If your SONR Radio produces unusual sounds, static, or signals from other radio frequencies, it is often related to accidental activation of the VOX function.
What Causes This Issue?
The VOX function (Button D on the Radio, per the instruction manual) allows automatic voice transmission.
Pressing this button too long (more than 1.5 seconds) can cause the radio to scan for available radio frequencies in your region.
During this scanning process, you may hear strange noises, static, or interference from nearby radios.
How to Fix It
Press the VOX button (D) briefly until you hear two short beeps.
This confirms that the radio has exited scanning mode and returned to normal operation.
Test the radio with your receiver to ensure that normal communication has resumed.
Important Notes
Avoid holding the VOX button for longer than 1.5 seconds unless intentionally scanning for frequencies.
If strange noises or interference persist after following these steps, please contact SONR Support at support@sonr.pro for further assistance.
